News

[video] - A couple of new videos have been added: Whole Life and Red Pained Scenes.

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

[links] - Exactly 2.5 years have passed since the last update. Recently, the band re-emerged with an official homepage and, more interestingly at the moment, a MySpace profile featuring three new songs. Go check them out! It looks like there will be more news and possibly a whole album in the future. At YouTube you can watch a short clip of the drum recordings.

Monday, November 13th, 2006

[discography] - Almost a year without any update, I'm very sorry. Reminder have been busy, though, recording demos and writing new material. The band is about to visit the record studio with producer Fredrik Andersson to tape some new songs like "Whole Life", "Random Thoughts", "Deny" and "Red-Painted Scene".

Wednesday, May 11th, 2005

[concerts] - Nicklas just sent me the news that Reminder will be playing in Eskilstuna on May 20th at Ballsta Festival. The band is scheduled to play around 7pm.

Tuesday, April 19th, 2005

[links] - No real news from the Reminder-camp so far. There presumably putting together recordings they did over the past few years. Meanwhile Tobias is playing gigs with Two Times The Trauma, which is yet another Mattias Olsson-band, this time together with Mattias E. from Celestine and loads of guest musicians. Check Mattias Olsson's homepage or the TTTT-website for current tour dates and further details on Two Times The Trauma. Oh, and Happy New Year!

Thursday, August 26th, 2004

[links] - Check out Mattias Olsson's weblog for his comments on the new demo of his old band (e.g., "Surprisingly mellow and sort of ambient sounding" and "Nicklas Sandström still sings amazing, good Simon & Garfunkel esque songs and harmonies, the atmosphere is really nice but (surprise, surprise!) maybe a little bit too safe."). He also remarked that Tobias has been recording some bass tracks for the second Nanook of the North-album, lately.

Wednesday, July 28th, 2004

[discography] - I received a demo with three brand new tracks. They sound really good and start off where the band left with the last recordings! If you're interested in hearing them you might try to contact the band.

Monday, May 3rd, 2004

[links] - Some news from Mattias Olsson: He's got his own homepage up and running over at http://www.roth-handle.nu where he promotes his studio and keeps a weblog. There is also a huge section about his collection of rather obscure instruments, some of which can be heard on Reminder's recordings. The band themselves are still demoing songs.

Saturday, November 29th, 2003

[discography] - The band compiled a demo with four new songs. It's not an official release. Nevertheless I've added it to the discography. The music is definitely in the vein of the older material, even though the vocals are a bit more in the focus this time around. Hopefully, Reminder will be able to attract some attention with these tracks.

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2003

[links] - Mattias Olsson points out that there are reviews of all Reminder-releases on Andy Thompson's Mellotron Page at http://www.planetmellotron.com.

Thursday, June 19th, 2003

[discography] - Three months without an update! Oh well, this place looks a bit marooned. BUT I haven't abandoned it. In fact, I was in Stockholm last week, where I met with Nicklas and Tobbe! Of course, I had to ask, what Reminder are up to these days. The band is still there, and they're currently working on a selection of new songs. Some of them aren't that new, but they haven't been released, yet. What I got to hear was really impressive! I can hardly wait to hear them in their final versions. However, it's difficult to say, when they're going to be released. So we all have to wait some more.
In the meantime, I've updated the discography with some new releases, mostly compilations containing Reminder-tracks. Thanks to Åsa from Exergy Music, who supplied the material!

Wednesday, March 19th, 2003

[news] - News from the band: "We are working with a new producer which will help Fredrik Andersson to record Reminder. His name is Magnus Persson (http://www.magnuspersson.se) and he is a very good drummer as well. We are working with two songs in his studio at Beckholmen in Stockholm to try this cooperation. Magnus is playing drums on the two songs but Jesper is still our drummer.
We are re-recording one of the old songs which is called "Why is it so".
We have rehearsed a couple of times with Thomas from Änglagård, our former keyboard player. We want Thomas to play on one of the songs which we want to record live with piano." says Nicklas.
Good to hear that, says me.

Thursday, March 13th, 2003

[links] - The Trouble with Thomas? No, not at all! In fact Reminder's former keyboard player Thomas Johnson put a link to this site on his homepage (http://www.fusion.kth.se/~thomasj)! That's cool.
Unfortunately, there are no news concerning Reminder at the moment.

[home] - Happy New Year!

Friday, December 6th, 2002

[songs] - In this new section you can now find comments from the band on their songs. Thanks to Nicklas and Tobias! In other news, I've revised the discography-section, adding a couple of releases, i.e. compilations and demos.

Monday, October 21st, 2002

[home] - Once again, some news from Mattias Olsson. He "and Tobias recorded an original track just me and him last monday. It is very electronic sounding with drummachines, Fender rhodes electric piano and vocodered. This might be the start of a new project or might be included in the Molesome stuff".
Meanwhile Reminder are still working on their new songs. They're supposed to be "ready soon", says Nicklas Sandström.

Wednesday, October 16th, 2002

[pictures] - Mattias Olsson was so kind to send me some pictures of Tobias recording in the studio.

Tuesday, September 17th, 2002

[home] - Long time no update, and once again I'm sorry for that. There aren't any Reminder news, but I think I should mention that Nanook of the North recently finished recording their new album "Täby Tapes". Mattias Olsson describes it as "a bit more obscure than the Pineforest stuff but very melodic at the same time". Tobias from Reminder can also be heard on the album playing some bass, baritone guitar, MS-10 and Fender Rhodes.

Wednesday, July 24th, 2002

[home] - Long time no update, I'm sorry for that. I was busy with exams at university and beside that there weren't really any news. All I can tell you is that the band has just spent a weekend recording vocals for the new songs "Why is it so" and "If they want to buy I don't want to sell" together with engineer Fredrik Andersson.

Tuesday, May 21st, 2002

[concerts] - A review of Perfect Hideout that was published in the newspaper Svenska Dagbladet can be found at http://www.svd.se/dynamiskt/kultur/did_2300075.asp.

Sunday, May 19th, 2002

[concerts] - Reminder were in a modern dance performance called Perfect Hideout where their music meets modern dance. It was created by the choreograph Helena Franzén around the music. The songs they played in the performance were "Limelight", "So gently", "Scared", "The trouble with Tommy" and "Lost sincerity". The whole thing took place at the Dansens Hus (http://www.dansenshus.se) at blå lådan on May 16th-18th. Unfortunately, I've been away for a few days (attending the premiere of Episode II with some friends away from my place), so now it's too late to watch the show. I'm sorry for that.
Anyway, thanks to Nicklas Sandström for the information. He also mentioned the band has finished recording the instrumental parts of their new songs and that they're going to add vocals in a couple of weeks.

Friday, May 5th, 2002

[media] - It's time for another update. Here you can find a new wallpaper. Once again it's all grey, black and some white, which is exactly the colour of the current weather outside my window.

Monday, April 8th, 2002.

[home] - One year ago I created this homepage, so it's time to celebrate its first anniversary! Unfortunately I can't provide anything like presents, news from the band or birthday cakes. Maybe next year.

Wednesday, March 13th, 2002.

[discography] - Exergy Records re-released most of the old discs as well as the single "Scared" earlier this month. I don't have any detailed information yet, since I just returned from vacations. Please see http://www.exergy-music.se/releaser.php for details.

Friday, February 22nd, 2002.

[links] - News from the band! Earlier this year they've started recording 8 new songs and halfway through the process right now. "The songs are more straight forward a bit easier I think. We are very pleased with the material.", says Nicklas Sandström.
In other news, the links-section was changed a little bit. Be sure to visit the (now working) Pineforest Crunch-homepage at http://www.pineforestcrunch.com.

Saturday, January 5th, 2002.

[media] - Happy New Year everybody! I've just added the guitar tabs of All Contrast Gone. I did them myself, so there are probably one or two things I couldn't hear correctly.

Sunday, December 16th, 2001.

[links] - Added the link to the Geller-homepage. There you can check out what Mattias Olsson is doing these days. Earlier this week I added a couple of answers to the interview with Tobias.

Thursday, November 8th, 2001.

[interviews] - Tobias is thinking of answers to some question I sent him. The interview will be a work in progress, so check out the page regularly as new questions and answers will arrive soon.

Tuesday, September 25th, 2001.

[concerts] - Some more details about the upcoming gigs in England: The Manchester-concert (September 30th) will take place at the Life Café (23 Peter Street / phone 0161 883 300) starting at 8:45 pm. The London-concert (October 2nd) will begin at 8 pm. The Soundtrack Of Our Lives and Silverbullit will be playing at both dates as well. For more information check out www.indiego.nu.

Sunday, September 23rd, 2001.

[concerts] - Reminder will be playing two concerts in England. On September 30th they will play in Manchester and on October 2nd you can watch them in London at the Borderline (5 Orange Yard / phone: 020 7734 2095) where acts like Lenny Kravitz, Live and Pearl Jam have already played.
[history] - I also got to know that the complete name of Reminder's drummer is Jesper Lagström.
Oh, and I revised the layout of the whole page a little bit. I don't know why I'm telling you this. I mean, if you haven't already noticed the change you're probably blind. Or you're here for the first time. In this case you shouldn't bother about it. I added some new sections, left out some boring parts and I hope that you like SCARED 1.1.

Friday, August 17th, 2001.

[pictures] - The band is still busy writing songs and getting a tan. But hey, today is my birthday, and as if it was a present I just found this picture on the (soon to be working) Pineforest Crunch-homepage at http://www.pineforestcrunch.com.

Sunday, July 22nd, 2001

[discography] - Added links to places where you can buy Reminder's music.

Friday, July 13th, 2001

[media] - It's time for another update. Here you can find a plain wallpaper I made a while ago. I'll add some further order information soon, so stay tuned.

Sunday, July 15th, 2001

[discography] - Today Exergy Music announces the release of a new single, "Too Late". Unfortunately I don't have further information at the moment. But if you see it in a record store, don't hesitate to buy it!
Beside that the second page with chords (Limelight) was added.

Monday, June 18th, 2001

[media] - Added the first page with chords to a Reminder song (Too Late) and I also revised the "Half empty"-lyrics a bit. Thanks to Nicklas.

Thursday, June 7th, 2001

[pictures] - Finally scanned some pictures from the concert in Stockholm last week.

Monday, June 4th, 2001

[concerts] - Yesterday I returned from Stockholm, where I spent some days and finally saw Reminder live! They played without drummer and had therefore a rather quiet set list including a new song named "Why Is It So".

Wednesday, May 16th, 2001

[home] - Yesterday http://www.exergy-music.se mentioned SCARED in their news. Thanks for that!

Monday, May 14th, 2001

[links] - Revised the links-section.

Sunday, May 13th, 2001

[interviews] - Mattias Olsson answered some questions I sent him. Thanks for the very detailed answers!

Friday, May 11th, 2001

[concerts] - Reminder will play at Majölfestivalen at Stockholm university on Thursday, 31st May at 6pm. Check out the http://www.exergy-music.se for some pictures and comments from their last tour in March through Southern Sweden.

Tuesday, May 8th, 2001

[media] - Three Reminder WinAmp skins are now available! Thanks to Natfan for making them.

Friday, April 27th, 2001

[home] - The site has moved once again, hopefully for the last time. Obviously it is now located at http://www.jutze.com/reminder

Thursday, April 19th, 2001

[home] - Due to server problems I moved the site to http://jutze.freeservers.com/reminder/

Thursday, April 12th, 2001

[interviews] - Nicklas Sandström answered some questions I sent him, which is really cool, not only because he did it, but also because he admits that he likes Star Wars! And he reports that Reminder have a new drummer named Jesper.

Wednesday, April 11th, 2001

[home] - Just let me tell you that things look like I can continue maintaining this site :-)

Sunday, April 8th, 2001

[home] - Premiere of this page. I hope Reminder's label tolerates it and I can continue the work.
