May 31st 2001 - Stockholm @ Universitetet

They played an open air gig at the Majölfestival of the Stockholm university. Since they there was a bunch of other bands playing there as well, Reminder played but half an hour. Entering the stage without a drummer, they started with a new song called "Why Is It So". Its atmosphere reminded me a bit of "Silhouette On The Wall" although it sounded a bit darker. "Can't Do Anything About It" was played in a slower version and Nicklas Sandström and Tobias Ljungkvist delivered great vocals. "Limelight" and "So Gently" followed, the latter one sounding very different to the album version since it there was only one acoustic guitar, one electric guitar and vocals. Nicklas dared to take of his sweater halfway through the set facing the cold Nordic winds. Brave man. "Lost Sincerity" was the softest song that lacked a bit the percussion work in my opinion. Eventually "Too Late" had more swing and ended the concert. I really enjoyed the set not only because the almost unplugged performance showed the band in a different mood than on record.
Later I talked with the band and complained that I missed "Scared" and a drummer (I mean it was okay without one, but still I wanted to know at least why they had played as a trio). They said that "Scared" wouldn't work in a stripped down version and that their drummer Jesper is still in the band.
